Winton School year 7 and 8 pupils participated in the PrEP programme (Primary Enterprise Programme).
Miss Brown (year 7 teacher) and Miss Robertson (year 8 teacher) were the bankers and made all the rules. On the day of PrEP Miss Brown and Miss Robertson changed NZ dollars into 'Midlands Moolah' (50c = 1 moolah, etc.,) Each group had up to 5 - 6 people. Each person had to go for a job for on the day. (CEO, Accountant, Marketer, Designer and Employee).
For homework one week we were given a CV to apply for the job we wanted, Then we had to get interviewed for the job to see if we were the right person for that position. There were twelve venture groups and altogether there was from stationary, Food, Car washes, Recipe books, Technology and Fun activities. the groups were mixed and chosen by the teachers.
On the day each class plus the Plunkett Kids and family members came and had a look around the stalls and activities for a while. Overall the day was a great success and then every group paid back their debts and still had heaps of money left over. Some of the groups sold out of the products while others had some left over. All together the groups raised between $600 and $900 and each pupil learned a little bit more about what it is like to own a service or a shop. A huge thanks to Miss Robertson and Miss Brown for making the day a HUGE success!

Hi Room 10
Hello Room 10. Well we arrived safley in Coolangatter Yesterday. We had a really smooth flight. Once we had gone through all of the passport checks and got our bags we finally got out of the airport and onto our bus. It was about a 20 minute bus drive from Coolangatter airport to our hotel. When we got checked in and everything, to get to our room we had to go past the swimming pool. The pool looked so refreshing in the very hot heat that felt like 38 degrees. Whe we got to our room we basically just dumped our bags got into our sswimming togs and went down to the pool for a well needed swim. The water was so refreshing and I loved it so much. After we had had a swim we came back up to our room we got changed and went to the shopping mall to get some food sshopping for tea tonight and just to have a look around. We had to catch the bus to the mall because we had a bus ticket to just show the bus driver and he would let us on. After we had done our shop we went back to the bus stop to catch another bus home. We unpacked our shopping and went straight back into the pool. Well today Callum and Archie woke up about half past 4 which in NZ time would be 7 o' clock because we are 3 hours behind. They couldn't get back to sleep so they did a bit of reading and colouring. Then they went swimming in the pool again. Today we also had a good walk on the beach were the water was very warm compared to the Riverton water. Then on the way back we walked along the high street. Mum bought us an ice - cream from Baskin Robbins which is a really big ice - cream store. We got to big scoop of ice - cream of our choice of what the had. Tonight we had and are having a big thunder storm. It started South and then has been working it's way up here. It is really scary because we are having forksss of lightning. It started off as just sky lightning but then it turned worse. Archie got really scared and so did I because when we were in England once we took barney ( Our Dog ) out for a walk when it was the start of guyforks night and mum said that they have lots of fireworks to start guyforks ight and to finish so I and Barney haven't been the same since then. Well thats all I have to say for now. Oh and buy the way tomorrow we are hopefully we are going to Wet "N" Wild.

Hi Room 10
Hi room 10 it's Katy. I have been having some good flights so far and are missing school terribly as when we are on the plane I get a bit bored after watching TV all the time. We had a good flight to Christchurch from Invercargill on Saturday. We also arrived safely in Singapore from Christchurch. It was a very long flight. Today we are flying to England on about an eleven hour flight. I am going to be bored. The plane food was alright but not the best plane food. On one of the meals we got a Kit - Kat which I scoffed and so did my brothers, on the other meal we got some MnM's. They were delicious. That is all I have time for now. Here it is about 6:13 in the morning. Talk to you soon
Katy
Ps: have a look on our cool blog for our trip at bryansuk2011.blogspot.com you don't have to put www ok. Bye
